George Russell is a British racing driver who competes in Formula 1 for Mercedes. An established Grand Prix winner, he is among the most closely watched drivers on the grid.
George made his Formula 1 debut in 2019. Across 164 Grand Prix starts he has scored 7 race wins, 30 podiums and 12 pole positions, racing under number 63.
Born on 15 February 1998, George has raced in Formula 1 for Mercedes and Williams. His victories span 6 different circuits, including Autódromo José Carlos Pace, Red Bull Ring and Las Vegas Strip Street Circuit.
Russell won the 2017 GP3 and 2018 Formula 2 titles before making his Formula 1 debut with Williams in 2019. A one-off Mercedes drive at Sakhir in 2020 put him in contention for victory before pit-stop trouble and a puncture intervened. He earned a full-time Mercedes seat for 2022 and took his first Grand Prix win that year in São Paulo.
